Mom always told me the most important thing to have in
this world is Character. It took me a long time to
realize what she meant, until I was old enough to
appreciate and value characteristics like integrity,
honesty and hard work...

Okay, blah, blah, blah, I know this ain't no sermon
but that was a hell of a way to pull your self
centered, social loathing, skate centric thoughts away
from landing that next trick for a second. After all,
you are on a skateboard magazine website, right? More
than likely, only because you can't skate right now
due to weather, school, work, injured, cashed out from
an earlier session or you just suck and are lazy.
Skaters are some of the most enigmatic yet charismatic
people on this planet. Some are upstanding citizens
with great characteristics and would never ollie in
front of old ladies downtown while others are straight
trash, gutter mouthed, un-bathed, bearded and dreaded
bums...most a mix of both, none the less, they're all
Characters in one way or another.

Character Skateboards is a lot like the world of
skating itself. A company built on the premise of
honesty, integrity, hard work, strong boards and of
course strong ass riders, but still real enough to get
it's hands dirty every once in awhile. Next month
Character makes 6 years old and is finally potty
trained. Thanks to skater owned shops, supporters and
fans, they continue to spread the word and the wood
throughout the Midwest and East Coast communities.
Riders include Kyle Terbush, Dan Little, Bill Wiora,
Andy Patterson, Corey Hendricks, Mike Owen, Joseph
Linzemann, Jackson Hennessey, Ward Cramer and owner
Alan Butella. These guys are a lot of fun and some of
the most creative skaters around. While you're surfing
in your seat and checking stuff out, give
www.myspace.com/characterskateboards a look, show em
some love and blow em a birthday kiss!! please add a
link to our character myspace site

The Mill Skatepark in Granite City, IL
held a "Welcome Back Jam" for me, Corey Hendricks.
First of all, big thanks goes out to everyone that
helped sponsor the event. (Character Skateboards,
Plan-Nine Skateshop, Adio Footwear, Promise Clothing, Antidote Skateboards, Sucka Free Crew, MATW Clothing, Shane from Earthly Delights, Skatemidwest. com, and Redbull) THANK YOU ALL! Anyway, the turnout was pretty
awesome. I believe it was inbetween 110-120. The
skating was super good, and so, the contests were full of shredders. It felt really good to be out there
skating again with a bunch of my friends. So, thanks
once again to all the sponsors and to everyone that showed up.

p.s. Lee Larkins, I'm sorry you drove all that way to
film and shred and then had your death lens broken
off. I'm working on getting that info for you now.
Thanks for supporting though, buddy.
